CHEYENNE – Sophomore Ashley Marshall recorded 13 assists, 12 kills and 12 digs to help the Lady Thunderbirds to a 25-16, 24-26, 25-15, 25-14 victory over visiting Cheyenne South on Friday night.
“We had a couple tough calls at the end of the second game, but we rallied around each other in the third and fourth games,” second-year Cheyenne East coach Nicole Quigley said.
Marshall also posted five blocks and five ace serves. Junior Madison Blaney tallied 16 digs and 14 kills.
Sophomore Brianne Bailey posted 10 blocks, while junior libero Sloane Danni had 16 digs.
Cheyenne South did not provide any information to WyoSports by deadline Friday.
Laramie 3, Cheyenne Central 0
CHEYENNE – Paige Blevins had 10 kills and seven digs for Cheyenne Central in a 23-25, 23-25, 18-25 loss to visiting Laramie.
Jordan Harris dished out 16 assists.
Pine Bluffs 3, Southeast 0
CHEYENNE – Senior Kammie Ragsdale notched 10 assists, 10 kills and eight digs to help No. 1-ranked Pine Bluffs to a 25-17, 26-24, 25-7 win over Southeast on Friday in Yoder.
“Our passing, at times, didn’t allow us to effectively run our offense, but the girls were able to come out of the slump,” Lady Hornets coach Lisa Gilbert said.
Senior Paige Thompson dished out 12 assists, while senior Torri Long had 10 digs.
