Cheyenne East senior Bradie Schlabs finished her final season leading the Thunderbirds in points (15.0), steals (3.8) and assists (3.4) while taking home her fourth-straight all-state selection, as well as both Class 4A East player of the year and defensive player of the year honors.

Cheyenne Central senior averaged 19.3 points and 4.7 rebounds to help Cheyenne Central capture the Class 4A state championship. That included 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting during a 62-59 victory over Laramie in the state championship game.

Cheyenne South senior swimmer Caleb Brewer won the 200-yard individual medley and repeated as state champion in the 100 butterfly at the Class 4A state meet Friday in Laramie. He was voted athlete of the year and athlete of the meet by the state’s coaches.

Cheyenne Central senior Joe Sawyer averaged 23.5 points per game to help the top-ranked Indians remain undefeated. That included a 31-point outing during a come-from-behind overtime victory over Natrona County on Friday.

Cheyenne Central senior guard Sammy Shumway scored a game-high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds, six assists and three steals during at 65-58 victory over Cheyenne East on Friday night.

Cheyenne East junior Liam Fox went 6-0 on the week with two technical falls and a pin. That included a 4-0 record and championship at the Top of the Rockies Invitational, which is one of the season’s biggest tournaments.
