CHEYENNE – An eight-run third inning coupled with uncharacteristic defensive play contributed to a 15-9 loss to Mountain View Toros for the Cheyenne Post 6 American Legion baseball team Thursday night in the northwest regional tournament.

The Sixers (64-18) face Waipahu, Hawaii, at

4 p.m. today in an elimination game in Missoula, Montana.

Mountain View carried a 4-2 lead into the third inning before exploding for eight runs. Five of those runs scored on three singles. Matthew Reynolds then smacked a three-run double to bust the game open.

Cheyenne’s Braxton Inniss went 4 for 5 with four RBI. Max Pedroza and R.J. Prince also drove in two runs apiece.
