UW signs junior-college defensive tackle

The University of Wyoming football program signed Troy Boyland, a 6-foot-3, 295-pound defensive tackle from the College of San Mateo in California.

Boyland is the fifth junior-college player that has signed with UW. He will enroll in school Monday and have two years of eligibility.

Boyland played in only four games in 2012 and recorded one solo tackle, seven assisted tackles and one tackle for loss. In 2010 he recorded 27 tackles and one tackle for loss.

Four of UW's five junior-college signess are from California schools.
