Cheyenne Central Indians

CHEYENNE – Cheyenne Central knocked off Strive Prep Smart Academy of Denver 68-8 on Thursday.

Sophomore forward Lawson Lovering scored a game-high 24 points for the Indians.

Junior Dawson Macleary pitched in with eight points.

“It was good to get one under our belt,” Central assistant coach Randy Filbin said. “Strive Prep, it’s their first year. Obviously they’re going to have their struggles. We did a good job of competing and sharing the basketball. Hard to get a true feel of where we’re at after this one.

“(We) did a real good job of throwing the ball into Lawson. They didn’t have much size and didn’t have an answer for him.”
