CHEYENNE – Saddle bronc rider Brody Cress, a 2014 Cheyenne East graduate, finished out of the money, but recorded his first score of his second trip to the National Finals Rodeo on Monday night in Las Vegas.
Cress scored 83.50 points on Bar T Rodeo’s Son of Sadie. He has previously been 0-for-4 at this year’s NFR.
Wade Sundell of Boxholm, Iowa, won the fifth go-round with a 92-point ride.
Cress is now ranked No. 11 in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys World Standings. He has more than $121,587 in earnings.
Other winners Monday included: Clayton Biglow (bareback); Will Lummis (steer wrestling); Clay Smith and Paul Eaves (team roping); Trevor Brazile, Ryan Jarrett and Reese Riemer (tie-down roping); Ivy Conrado (barrel racing); and Eli Vastbinder (bull riding).
Biglow’s 92-point bareback ride set a new record for the Thomas & Mack Arena.
