CHEYENNE – Dillen Phillips used to climb onto the starting blocks, look at the girls next to her and think there was no way she was going to outswim them.

It could have been a self-fulfilling prophecy, but Phillips won just two races during her freshman season at Cheyenne South. She doubled that number with four wins as a sophomore. Last fall, Phillips touched the wall first six times.
