CHEYENNE – Former Cheyenne American Legion Post 6 standout Brandon Nimmo drew a walk and scored on a wild pitch during the eighth inning of the New York Mets’ 5-2 loss at Philadelphia on Sunday night.

The 26-year-old was playing in his first Major League game since May 21. He has been on the injured list because of a bulging cervical disk and whiplash he suffered during a collision with the center field wall while making a catch April 14 in Atlanta.

Nimmo is batting .200 (26 for 130) with seven doubles, three home runs, 14 RBIs, 28 walks, 48 strikeouts and a stolen base in 46 games this season.
