The Laramie High girls swimming and diving team continued its dominance in dual meets Saturday with a pair of wins.
The Lady Plainsmen won 11 of 12 events, and also scored plenty of depth points to beat Green River 101-80 and Jackson 123-58 during a double-dual in Green River. LHS coach Tom Hudson said the Lady Plainsmen expected and received a challenge from an improved Green River squad. The final two events were exhibitioned by Laramie once the duals were won mathematically.
The LHS girls improved to 10-0 in duals this season — an unbeaten streak that also dates back to the last two seasons when they were 15-0 each year.
Senior Sage Morton also left her name in the pool’s record books in two events. She broke the record in the 500-yard freestyle in 5 minutes, 18.68 seconds and tied the record in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.25.
The Lady Plainsmen also broke two relay pool records. The 200 medley relay team (in order) of junior Katie McPherson, senior Olivia McPherson, freshman Therese Richardson and sophomore Anna Roesler set the new mark in 1:51.53. The new record for the 200 freestyle relay is 1:41.83 set by Olivia McPherson, Roesler, senior Heidi Schroeder and Richardson.
