ROCK SPRINGS — There’s been a lot of high school pools around the state that had to update the venue record boards after the Laramie High girls swimming and diving team visited.
Friday night was no different during a dual in Rock Springs after the Lady Plainsmen set four new pool records.
The LHS girls didn’t waste any time either, setting a new mark of 1 minute, 55.45 seconds in the 200-yard individual medley with the team of (in order) junior Katie McPherson, senior Olivia McPherson, freshman Therese Richardson and sophomore Ana Roesler.
Senior Heidi Schroeder joined Olivia McPherson, Roesler and Richardson to break the pool record in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:44.04.
Olivia McPherson left her name on the 50 freestyle record in 24.31, and Sage Morton set a new low in the 500 freestyle in 5:21.82.
The Lady Plainsmen stayed undefeated at 8-0 on the season in duals with the 98-83 win against Rock Springs. Laramie will next compete in a double-dual against Evanston and Green River at 9 a.m. today in Green River.
The Lady Plainsmen went on the road and fell to 9-14 overall Friday with a three-set loss (25-21, 25-23, 25-17) at Campbell County.
Alexis Stucky led Laramie with 15 kills and 13 digs. Jessica Crane added 15 kills with Halley Feezer and Taylor Gardner recording 14 assists each.
