The scorecards for the first day of the Class 4A state golf tournament have been turned in at Bell Nob Golf Course in Gillette.
The Laramie High golfers were paced by Lady Plainsmen sophomore Camryn Nagy, who was in 16th place after a first-round 92 and junior Thayne Thatcher, who carded an 87 for 27th place.
The Plainsmen are currently in eighth place out of 11 teams, and the Lady Plainsmen are 11th out of 12 teams.
Leading the boys team scores is Kelly Walsh with two golfers tied for first individually. Thunder Basin leads the girls team scores.
The first day of the Class 4A South Conference Tennis Tournament is in the books with all the early rounds decided on Friday.
Laramie senior Kyle Moore advance to the championship match at No. 1 singles and will face three-time state champion Brendan Lock of Cheyenne South.
Also in the finals for the Plainsmen is the No. 1 doubles team — and sophomore brother tandem — Sam and Marcos Johnson-Noya and the No. 3 doubles team of senior George Yost and sophomore Ben Ruckman.
Still alive in the consolation bracket for the Lady Plainsmen are the No. 1 doubles team of junior Kylee Cox and sophomore Lina Woelk and the No. 2 doubles team of senior Kate Dennis and junior DaiJane Giron.
