CHEYENNE – The Cheyenne East wrestling team went 4-1 to place third in its own Charlie Lake dual tournament Friday.

The Thunderbirds’ only loss was to eventual runner-up Sidney, Nebraska, 39-36.

Casper Kelly Walsh won the tournament.

The Thunderbirds had Landon Trujillo (106 pounds), Amos Solano (126) and Shawn Smith (132) all go 5-0.

Cheyenne Central seniors Val Herd (195 pounds) and Tanner Martin (220) were both 5-0.

Cheyenne South seniors Mikey Fischer (132) and Dominic Dominguez (145) were both 5-0.

Burns-Pine Bluffs’ junior 182-pounder Kyle Thurin was 4-0.

The Charlie Lake individual tournament is today at East.
