First time, first place

The WYO Elite Cheer organization competed at its first ever competition Saturday at the 22nd annual Spirit Fest Championships at Elitch Gardens in Denver.

The Storm took 23 athletes comprised of two teams — youth and senior, and both won first place. The teams also added best sportsmanship awards for the entire competition.

WYO Elite Cheer, located at 803 Skyline Road, offers All Star cheerleading including prep cheer, stunts, tumbling, dance, private lessons and open gym classes.

The teams also perform at several community events throughout the year.
