CHEYENNE – Former Cheyenne American Legion Post 6 standout Brandon Nimmo was 0 for 1 with a walk for the St. Lucie Mets during an 8-2 loss to the Lakeland Flying Tigers.

Nimmo entered the game as the center fielder in the third inning. He drew a five-pitch walk during the fourth inning, and flew out to center in the seventh.

The 26-year-old is batting .250 (2 for 8) with a triple, two walks and a strikeout in three minor league rehab games. The New York Mets placed Nimmo on the injured list May 22 because of a bulging disk and whiplash in his neck.

He is batting .200 (26 for 130) with seven doubles, three home runs and 14 RBIs in 43 games with New York this season. He also has drawn 26 walks and struck out 48 times.
