Three Laramie Rangers baseball players earned all-state honors at the AA American Legion level this season.
Caleb Eaton was named to the first team. Eaton was a second-team all-state selection last year. Tyler Oppie and Aidan Morris garnered second team honors this year.
Voting was done by the coaches.
Eaton had a .412 batting average with 10 triples, eight doubles and 20 RBI. On the mound, Eaton was 2-7 with a 6.84 earned run average with 44 strikeouts in 45 innings.
Oppie hit .377 with 24 RBI. He was 3-5 on the mound with a team-high 71 strikeouts. Morris hit .315 with 46 hits and 39 RBI.
The Rangers finished with a 15-40 record this season.
Casper’s Corbin Kirk was named the AA Player of the Year. Kirk also was named the AA state tournament most valuable player. The Oilers won the state title this year. Gillette’s Hayden Sylte was the AA Pitcher of the Year. Coach of the Year honors went to Jackson’s Jason Huggins, who guided the Giants to the state championship game.
Casper had a state-high five players make the first team. Cheyenne and Gillette had four. Jackson had two. Laramie and Sheridan each had one.
