Wyoming Air Force Football

University of Wyoming coach Craig Bohl, center, leads his team on to the field for the second half Nov. 30, 2019, at Air Force. Air Force won 20-6.

LARAMIE – Somewhat tongue in cheek, but also quite seriously, University of Wyoming football coach Craig Bohl compared what his team is about to see in Reno, Nevada, to one of his old stomping grounds.

When the Cowboys open their season at Nevada this afternoon, they will do so in front of an almost empty Mackay Stadium. While UW is allowing 7,000 fans at its Oct. 30 home opener against Hawaii, the Wolf Pack are not as fortunate. Local health and safety guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic will allow only 250 people (largely family) at games.
