LARAMIE — Three University of Wyoming football players announced via Twitter that they plan to transfer.

Redshirt freshmen Reow Jackson and DeVaughn Brown, and sophomore Jalani Ellison posted that they have entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.

All three were part of UW’s 2018 recruiting class. Jackson suffered an Achilles tendon injury during fall camp last summer, and was limited during spring drills.

Ellison played in six games last season, but didn’t record any statistics.

None of the three players appeared on UW’s post-spring depth chart in April.

Jackson’s departure leaves UW with only one scholarship running back with game experience — sophomore Xazavian Valladay. UW signed three running backs as part of its 2019 recruiting class that will be true freshmen this season.
