LARAMIE — The University of Wyoming men’s basketball team released its 2019-20 schedule Monday, which features eight nonconference home games and an early start to Mountain West play.
Game times and television coverage have yet to be announced.
UW opens the season Oct. 30 with an exhibition game against Northwest Nazarene at the Arena-Auditorium. Its regular-season opener is Nov. 5 at home against Idaho State.
The Cowboys’ other home nonconference games will be against Cal-State Fullerton Nov. 13, Oregon State Nov. 16, Detroit Mercy Nov. 19, Louisiana Nov. 21, Northern Colorado Dec. 14, Utah Valley Dec. 18 and Nebraska Wesleyan Dec. 28.
The games against Detroit Mercy and Louisiana are part of the MGM Main Event. UW will play Colorado at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nov. 24 and either Clemson or TCU Nov. 26.
The Cowboys’ other road nonconference games are against South Carolina Nov. 10 and Denver Dec. 21.
UW opens MW play with two home games — Dec. 4 against Air Force and Dec. 7 against New Mexico. The rest of its conference slate begins Jan. 1. The early start of conference games is league-wide so it could play the MW Tournament in Las Vegas March 4-7.
