CHEYENNE – Cheyenne East diver Erica Farris set a new pool record en route to the Green River Invitational title on Saturday morning.
Farris scored 224.95 points, while teammate Braeden Stewart was second (192.10).
The Lady Thunderbirds finished seventh in the team standings with 118 points. Cheyenne South was fifth with 144, while Green River won the meet with 312.
East’s Ruth Potter touched the wall third in the 100-yard freestyle (1 minute, 2.90 seconds).
South got a runner-up finish from Ellie Brewer in the 50 free (28.00), which was good enough to qualify for the Class 4A state meet. Brewer also finished fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:16.73).
Liberty Edwards placed fourth in both the 200 free (2:16.03) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.83) for the Bison.
Edwards, Brewer, Alexandra Robért and Jakobi Mirich finished third in the 200 medley relay (2:07.42). Mirich, Brewer, Edwards and Dillen Phillips joined forces to take third in the 400 free relay (4:18.46).
Central's Osterman wins 200 IM at KW Invite
CHEYENNE – Cheyenne Central’s Sally Osterman won the 200-yard individual medley at the Casper Kelly Walsh Invitational on Saturday.
Osterman finished the race in 2 minutes, 25.51 seconds. She also placed third in the 100 butterfly (1:05.80).
Teammates Kira Brownnell and Anja Stefka also took home titles. Brownell won the 100 backstroke (1:03.24), while Stefka placed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.62). Brownell also took third in the 200 IM (2:27.12).
Central’s Emma Reed was the runner-up in the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 208.20. Porscha Cavanaugh took third in both the 50 freestyle (26.14 seconds) and the 100 free (57.41 seconds).
The Lady Indians placed second in the 200 medley relay (1:59.47) and in the 400 free relay (3:53.16), and they took third in the 200 free relay (1:49.08).
Central placed second as a team with 337 points. Laramie won the team race with 377 points.
