CHEYENNE – Redshirt freshman Gabi O'Connor scored a game-best 24 points, but it wasn't enough for the Laramie County Community College women's basketball team during a 72-61 loss to Northeastern Junior College on Thursday in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

The Region IX tournament loss ends LCCC's season. The Golden Eagles finished the year 19-12 overall, which is their best record in the three seasons since the program was resurrected.

Northeastern outrebounded LCCC 46-22, and held 13-0 advantage in second-chance points.

The Eagles got 13 points and nine rebounds from freshman Ja'Kia Wells. Freshman guard Haylie Anderson chipped in with nine points.
