CHEYENNE – Aidan Colgan singled to center field during the seventh inning to score R.J. Prince from third base and give Cheyenne American Legion Post 6 a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Aces at the Pacific Mountain Invitational on Saturday in Denver.
Cheyenne (35-14) advanced to the semifinals with a 4-2 victory over Seattle Select.
Against Colorado, right fielder Andrew Johnson was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Second baseman Nico Vite was 2 for 3.
Travis Onisto pitched a seven-inning complete game, striking out seven and allowing seven hits.
Grant Redman had two hits against Seattle, while Vite had two-run triple. Johnson followed Vite’s triple with one of his own.
Zack Costopoulos’ lone hit was a double.
Dawson Macleary picked up the pitching win, scattering four hits and giving up two earned runs in three innings on the mound. Colton Nyberg came on in relief and gave up just one hit in four innings.
The Sixers face Triple Crown-Colorado in the semis at 9 a.m. today.
