CHEYENNE – The No. 3 doubles tandem of Gracie Osterland and Tenley Keller won a three-set match with two tie-breakers to help the Cheyenne Central girls to a 3-2 victory Saturday at Green River.

Osterland and Keller topped Emmie Archibald and Kaylee Carson, 7-6 (6), 5-7, 7-6 (5). The Lady Indians also got wins from Emily Needham (No. 1 singles) and the No. 1 doubles team of Sarah Foster and Cassadie Anderson.

Central swept Rock Springs 5-0. It won all five matches in straight sets and lost just 10 games.

The Indians boys beat Green River (4-1) and Rock Springs (5-0).

All of the wins were in straight sets, but No. 1 singles player Elijah Norgauer needed a second-set tiebreaker to beat Green River’s Caeden Grubb 6-3, 7-6 (5). No. 3 doubles pairing of Ben Burron and Kellen Flowers topped Braxton Cordova and Zach Friel, 7-6 (3), 6-2.

East teams split duals in Sweetwater County

CHEYENNE – The Cheyenne East girls and boys tennis teams both lost to Green River 4-1 on Saturday, before beating Rock Springs.

The Lady Thunderbirds topped Rock Springs 4-1, while the boys won 5-0.

East junior No. 1 singles players Lexie Woolridge won both of her matches, including a three-set win against Rock Springs.

Junior Mason Paskett won both of his No. 1 singles matches for the boys.
