Tulsa redshirt junior quarterback Zach Smith has passed for 664 yards and three touchdowns. He also is completing 63.4% of his passes. The Cowboys are struggling to get their passing game off the ground, averaging 81.7 yards per game. That ranks 128th out of 130 Football Bowl Subdivision teams.

Advantage: Tulsa

Running back

Wyoming sophomore Xazavian Valladay returns after missing last week’s win over Idaho because of an ankle injury. He has rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns in a little bit more than one game. Senior Trey Smith rushed for 152 yards last week. Tulsa counters with junior Shamari Brooks’ 82.3 yards per game.

Advantage: Wyoming

Wide receivers/tight ends

Tulsa juniors Sam Crawford and Keylon Stokes both have more than 200 receiving yards this season. Tight end Jackson Marcotte is UW’s leading receiver with three catches for 58 yards.

Advantage: Tulsa

Offensive line

Tulsa has surrendered nine sacks through three games. Granted, the Golden Hurricane has faced two Power 5 programs. Wyoming’s line has given up just two sacks, and is clearing the way for a rushing offense that has averaged 245.3 yards per game.

Advantage: Wyoming

Defensive line

UW senior Josiah Hall was in street clothes during Wednesday’s practice. His absence today would be a huge loss for the Cowboys. Tulsa has tallied just two sacks so far this season, while Wyoming has mustered 11.

Advantage: Wyoming

Wyoming senior Logan Wilson has posted 35 tackles (21 solo). Freshman Chad Muma – who is Wilson’s backup at middle linebacker – has 16 (10 solo). Tulsa senior Cooper Edmiston has 25 tackles (nine solo) through three games.

Advantage: Wyoming

Wyoming gets senior cornerback Antonio Hull back this week after he missed the first three games while dealing with a “personal issue” in California. The bad news is C.J. Coldon, who has played well in place of Hull, suffered a season-ending injury. Tulsa’s Brandon Johnson and Manny Bunch also are strong tacklers.

Advantage: Tulsa

Special teams

Wyoming’ s Tyler Hall is a threat to break a touchdown as a kick returner, while Austin Conway is dangerous as a punt returner. Keylon Stokes handles both kick and punt returns for the Golden Hurricane. He is averaging 21.4 yards on kick returns, 5.3 on punt returns.

Advantage: Wyoming

Final Score: Wyoming 27, Tulsa 24
