CHEYENNE – Burns senior Ethan Norris won both hurdles events at Friday’s Kendra Roeder Invitational in Pine Bluffs to help the Broncs’ boys team take first place with 181.5 team points.
Norris won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.46 seconds and the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.75. He also tied for second place in pole vault, clearing 12 feet, 6 inches.
Shaw Martin and Mason Medley picked up wins for the Broncs as well in the 200- and 400-meter dashes, respectively. The Broncs also swept all four relay events.
Burns’ girls took first place, as well, notching 161 team points. Brynn Bach picked up a pair of wins, winning the 100 hurdles (17.93) and clearing 8-0 in the pole vault. Senior Payton Pollard won the 3,200 (14:06.38).
Pine Bluffs’ girls team took third place, posting 77 team points. Junior Jessica Hoffman picked up the team’s lone individual first-place finish, tossing the discus 117-5 to win the event by just under 11 feet. The Hornets 4x100 relay team took first place, finishing with a time of 55.26.
Pine Bluffs' boys took fourth place with 72.5 team points. The Hornets’ best finish of the day on the boys side came from Thomas Reifschneider, who took first place in the 800 with a time of 2:20.07.
