CHEYENNE – Senior Chase Talich scored a game-high 27 points to help No. 1-ranked Cheyenne Central to a 75-68 victory over Campbell County in the first round of the Class 4A East Regional on Thursday in Sheridan.
The Indians held a 27-12 lead after the first quarter and led 42-30 at halftime.
Central also got 15 points from both Sammy Shumway and Joe Sawyer.

CHEYENNE – Colton Rogers scored 18 of his game-high 33 points during the second quarter to help Natrona County beat Cheyenne East 71-67 in the first round of the Class 4A East Regional on Thursday in Sheridan.
“Rogers took over the game in the second quarter and scored more than our entire team did,” East coach Rusty Horsley said. “We had a few costly turnovers that hurt us in the second quarter. Natrona outplayed us in a lot of different areas.”
East got 21 points and seven assists from senior Drew Jackson. Cam Hayes added 10 rebounds, seven points, six assists and three steals.
Senior Nathan Mirich netted 13 points, while Brenden Bohlmann chipped in with nine.
The Thunderbirds face Campbell County in an elimination game at noon today.

CHEYENNE – Cael Hamrick scored a game-high 14 points to help Sheridan grab a 77-43 victory over Cheyenne South in the first round of the Class 4A East Regional on Thursday in Sheridan.
South was fronted by 10 points from Dez Waters, while Gabe Hernandez Reyes and Dylan Willmarth added eight points apiece.
The Bison face either Laramie or Thunder Basin in an elimination game at 1:30 p.m. today.

CHEYENNE – Pine Bluffs sophomore Carsten Freeburg scored a team-high 28 points in the Hornets' 66-44 loss to West No. 1 seed Wyoming Indian to open the Class 2A state tournament on Thursday.
Freeburg finished the game with a 9-of-21 mark from the field and played just shy of 29 minutes. He also hauled in four rebounds and recorded four steals. The Hornets as a team shot just 28.3% from the field in the game.
