Cheyenne East 3 Campbell County 0
CHEYENNE – Santiago Ramirez Munoz and Connor Kling both scored one goal and assisted on another to help Cheyenne East to a 3-0 victory over visiting Campbell County on Saturday morning at Okie Blanchard Stadium.
The Thunderbirds scored two goals in the first 15 minutes and never looked back.
“We were really aggressive right away and have something like five shots and two corners in the first four minutes,” first-year East coach Alex Stratton said. “One of the first shots, (Ramirez Munoz) had a really nice scissor kick that the goalie had to make a great save on. The kids connected a lot of passes and continued to have build up from the midfield to attack.
“We’re figuring out how to play into space, play it to open players and allow the ball to do the work. The boys are starting to get a lot more confidence from seeing the ball go in the back of the net.”
Kling got East on the scoreboard in the seventh with an assist from Liam Taylor. Brenden Bohlmann scored off an assist from Ramirez Munoz in the 15th. Ramirez Munoz notched a goal off an assist from Kling in the 70th.
