CHEYENNE – A slow start hampered the Pine Bluffs girls during the semifinals of the Class 2A East Regional on Friday in Burns.
The Hornets were outscored 12-2 in the first quarter. Lingle got 17 points from Natalie Speckner and 15 from Skyla Wunder.
Pine Bluffs was led by Hattie Lerwick’s 11 points. Reese Graves added nine.
The Hornets will try to clinch a state tournament berth when they face Big Horn at 9 a.m. today.

CHEYENNE – Four players scored in double figures to help Tongue River to a 62-32 victory over Burns in the semifinals of the Class 2A East Regional on Friday in Burns.
Chaney Reish scored a game-high 17 for the Eagles, while Afton Cummins chipped in with 15. McKinlee Scammon posted 12, and Jazlyn Ryan added 11.
Burns was paced by sophomore Josie Barrett’s 10 points. Senior Jordan Griess chipped in with eight.
The Broncs try to keep their season alive when they face Sundance at 9 a.m. today.
