CHEYENNE – Cheyenne’s Bricen Baktamarian and Brenson Bartlett both picked up two victories during the Wyoming High School Rodeo Association’s stop in Wheatland over the weekend.
Baktamarian won trap shooting with 90 points and light rifle shooting with 305 points. He leads the WYHSRA’s season standings in both events. He has 20 points in light rifle and 19 in trap shooting.
Bartlett won bull riding both days, scoring 75 points during Saturday’s rodeo and 76 on Sunday. He was the only cowboy to cover his draw Saturday and one of only two Sunday. Bartlett leads the season standings with 39 points.
Cheyenne’s Kael Lissman scored 88 points to take second in his first trap shooting competition. That put him sixth in the season standings.
Cheyenne’s Trigg Thompson placed fifth in light rifle (257) and sixth in trap shooting (76). He also joined Gillette header Ava Reno on the eighth-place team roping tandem Sunday (13.18 seconds). Thompson is fifth in the trap shooting season standings and sixth in light rifle.
Stesha Tidyman of Carpenter placed seventh in barrel racing Saturday (18.062). Cheyenne’s Colin Kofron placed 10th in tie-down roping on Saturday (23.71). Pine Bluffs’ Ty Scarborough is in a three-way tie for the season lead in saddle bronc.
During the junior high portion of the Wheatland rodeo, Cheyenne’s Tripp Thompson placed third in boys breakaway roping with a time of 5.37 seconds. He also was second in light rifle shooting (191 points).
Pine Bluffs’ Tuf Scarborough placed second in chute dogging (24.41 seconds).
