CHEYENNE – Omar Castruita scored an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute to help the Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Northeastern Junior College on Saturday in Sterling, Colorado.
Alexis Flores got the Golden Eagles (9-3 overall, 7-0 Region IX) on the scoreboard in the 45th minute. Northeastern knotted the score on a penalty kick from Carlos Morales in the 60th.
CHEYENNE – Beyonce Robinson scored three goals and assisted on another to help the No. 4-ranked Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team to a 6-1 victory over Northeastern Junior College on Saturday in Sterling, Colorado.
“We had windy conditions again and a pretty bumpy, bad field,” LCCC coach Jim Gardner said. “Overall, we played better than we did (Friday). That was kind of an off day, and we picked it up and played much better.”
The Golden Eagles (10-0-1 overall, 7-0 Region IX) also got two goals from sophomore Shaney McCabe and one from Taylor Meyrick, who is a Cheyenne Central graduate.

CHEYENNE – Sophomore Cassidy Nelson posted 21 digs and 15 kills to help the Laramie County Community College volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-15 victory over Central Wyoming on Saturday.
Kyla Childers added 13 kills, while Gwen Sheldon dished out 43 assists.
Shelby Veenstra and Kendzee Cloward had 12 and 11 digs, respectively.
LCCC had a season-high 18 blocks as a team.
