LARAMIE — Wyoming will play a home-and-home football series with Cal in 2028 and 2029, the schools announced Tuesday. UW will play in Berkeley, California on Sept. 2, 2028 and will host the Bears the following season on Sept. 8, 2029.
The two programs have met once previously in the 1990 Copper Bowl, a game Cal won 17-15.
With Cal on the schedule, the Cowboys have an impressive non-conference schedule in the comings years. In addition to the matchups with Cal, UW plays Utah in 2020 and 2025, plays at Clemson in 2021, plays Texas Tech in 2023 and 2028, plays at Texas in 2023 and travels to Arizona State in 2024.
Cal, of the Pac-12, is coming off an 8-5 season and second-straight bowl appearance under head coach Justin Wilcox. UW (8-5) finished its 2019 season on a high note with a dominant 38-17 victory over Georgia State in the Arizona Bowl.
