LARAMIE — It didn't take long for the University of Wyoming men's basketball team to feel the effects of the transfer portal again this offseason.
Jacob Theodosiou became the first Cowboy to enter the portal Tuesday afternoon, just one day after it officially opened. The 6-foot-4 guard out of Waterloo, Ontario, hardly played during his lone season at UW.
As a true freshman, Theodosiou saw the floor in just 11 games this season. He averaged 0.6 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 4.6 minutes per game.
Theodosiou's biggest game came in a home win over South Dakota Mines in December. In 20 minutes of action, he ended the night with three points, four rebounds and an assist.
Theodosiou was a three-star recruit out of high school at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio.
"A big thank you to coach (Nick) Whitmore, coach Bryston (Williams), coach (Ken) DeWeese, coach (Jeff) Linder, and the entire support staff and my teammates for their full support this past year at the University of Wyoming," Theodosiou said on X. " I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal and looking forward to the next chapter."
The transfer portal remains open until May 1.
